Crisis and Opportunity

“Buy when there’s blood in the streets, even if the blood is your own” - Baron Rothchild

This is a famous quote and one that I appreciate. I wish that I could say that I learned this and applied it to my life at a young age. There is a lot of wisdom in this quote though. The idea behind this quote is that you can find great investment opportunities when a crisis hits.

I would like to take that a step further. I would argue that any crisis leads to an opportunity in the area of value production. The question that I would ask is what value can I offer during this crisis. I am not suggesting that a crisis should be wanted, but the reality is when they come how can you provide value during that crisis?

A good example of this idea is the fact that we have a workforce shortage. What value can you offer during this time? I spoke with one of my clients and they decided after our conversation to begin providing virtual assistants to some companies. They believe they can offer this value to companies at an affordable cost with a much-needed season of demand at hand. The value they are offering is going to help companies in crisis.

You can find great investments when a crisis is at hand, but you can also find ways to offer value to create cash flow for your business or endeavors.
