The definition of money is “an exchange of value and a store of value”. Most people get very confused when it comes to money. They think money has some inherent value. Money actually has really no value anymore. Money does follow value though and it has transformed over time. People have exchanged or bartered throughout history. They eventually created other methods such as banknotes, coins, etc.
The gold standard was the basis for the international monetary system from the 1870s until 1971 when the United States terminated convertibility of the US dollar to gold foreign central banks. This decision led to a fiat currency. Fiat money is money issued by governments and not backed by a physical commodity, such as gold or silver, but rather by the government that issued it. It’s been said that the US dollar is backed by armies and guns. The empire is what makes the money valuable.
Money use to have value when it was backed by a commodity, such as gold. Now it’s not backed by anything with real value. Central Bankers have viewed money printing as a means to manipulate the economy. The more they print money the more they make corporations and the government wealthier. Governments benefit from a hidden tax of inflation. Corporations benefit by becoming richer as average citizens become poorer.
The currencies around this world continue to lose whatever perceived value they have as more money is printed. This causes inflation to be on the rise. I believes we are headed towards some very hard times even though politicians and central planners try to convince us otherwise. It’s time to get educated.
That’s why The Missionary Capitalist exists. Our purpose is to see people live free! We believe in capitalism and believe that the message of capitalism offers hope. It’s a message of freedom by not only recognizing property rights but allowing value to dictate the market. The capitalist lifestyle is about property and value. Capitalists learn to exchange value and store value.
We need financial education now more than ever. Now is the time to get educated. I believe hard times are coming. We want to help you be prepared. #FinancialEducation #FinancialFreedom
