Just a kid with his grandpa walking down the street in a small mid western town. That was me. I really don’t remember what we were doing or even where we were going, but I remember the conversation and the feelings that I had. My grandfather was telling me that “hard work pays off” and “work hard and you will be paid well”. I listened to him and thought to myself that I hope that I could work as hard as him some day. I decided to value work that day.
I became a workaholic that day. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I do now that I ended up being a workaholic. I do not blame my grandfather for that. I blame myself for my poor thinking. Working hard isn’t bad, but how I allowed that to manifest itself was troubling. I found years later that I lived to work in order to be happy and that was the problem.
The problem is that I was working for all the wrong reasons. I ended up working to make money with the hopes of it making me happy. I valued money and work and that was the problem.
Working for money is never good. It took me years later to learn that being happy has nothing to do with with work or money. Being happy is something that is entirely different. What makes me happy now is my family, my faith, living out my freedom, and providing value to the world. The world needs value. I am happy because I am providing value in various parts of my life.
When you provide value, you can change the world. My vision is to live free and change the world. I do that by living out my mission of producing value. What do I value? I value my faith, my family, living free, and financial freedom. I believe that as I add value to the world, I will see cash flow follow value production.
People need to ask the following questions, what do I love (value), where do I want to go (vision), and what can I do (mission)? These questions are important to answer. They will help you create the value you can offer the world. You must then produce the value that you have created. The production is sometimes the hardest part. People need to live out what they value.
I value financial freedom. I want to help people explore and discover how to achieve financial freedom in their lives and in their organizations. I feel that I can bring immense value in helping people become financially free and independent.
Value Creation is when I know what I love and I decide to work towards living out what I love. This is value creation. It is when you discover what makes you tick and you can’t help but want to provide substance in that area. People need to rediscover what they love.
Value Production is when you start to choose to live out what you love. I know someone who loved music. They live for playing instruments. They loved music so much, but they miserable in life. One day they decided to help someone learn to play an instrument and they came alive. It took a while, but they started to realize they loved music education. They started teaching people how to play various instruments and they offered great value. What did they do? They created value by discovering what they loved and they did value production by choosing to live that out.
I love finance and freedom. I want people to learn how to become financially free and independent. So, I live to help people discover Financial Freedom. I do this by helping people discover their values because true freedom is found in the creation and production of one's love or what they value.
